About Forth Bridge
The first major steel bridge in the world. A UNESCO World Heritage Site. Required 58,000 tons of steel. 73 workers died during construction. Needs constant repainting - the phrase painting the Forth Bridge means an endless task. The painting was finally completed in 2011 with a new coating lasting 25 years.
