About Sunshine Skyway Bridge
Replaced a bridge partially destroyed when a ship hit it in 1980, killing 35 people. The new design has dolphons (barrier islands) to protect against ship impacts. The yellow cables are a Tampa Bay landmark. Designed by Eugene Figg.
